This beautiful and thought-provoking piece squeezes my heart in hidden places. October 7th was barbaric, horrific. The blatant and wicked antisemitism that erupted in its wake shocked me, especially because it was coddled by multiple institutions. It opened my eyes to something so ugly, so viscerally anathema to all that is good and right that I know who my friends are. And aren’t. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Dear Lynne,

Almost 77. Of this I’m sure. There is peace that we can count on, and it’s the peace that resides within us. The peace that appears naturally on the faces of children before the world hurts them. If the world is ever to move on from war, it won’t be the absence of war because we all agree to stop fighting, no, it will be only when we all rid ourselves of the war within.

By the way, my belief that love will prevail remains strong and everlasting❤️

Jeff

I hope you're right, @Jeff B! But that means people need to be self-reflective!
