Launch Day is TOMORROW!

Cave of Secrets meets the world on August 27th, and I'd love to celebrate with you.

The day I’ve been planning six months for is almost here! Tomorrow, I’ll officially launch my second novel, CAVE OF SECRETS, in an 11 a.m. virtual event and a 7 p.m. in-person party. I hope you can attend one or both!!

If you’re a new reader, this novel, set in Scotland and Michigan, is a suspenseful contemporary romance with hints of magical realism. Here’s the blurb:

A contemporary romance with hints of magical realism, Cave of Secrets is about family heritage, intergenerational trauma, and finding the courage to be honest with ourselves — and those who love us.

The Inspiration for CAVE OF SECRETS

The house above is where I stayed in summer 2022 to begin writing this book! The stairs on the right are part of the hike on Conic Hill, which features in this book.

The idea for this book was born when I spent a month in the Scottish Highlands in the summer of 2022. I went to a little house in the rolling hills to write every day. Once there, I started researching Jews in Scotland because my author brand focuses on some aspect of Jewish identity in every book.

While my first novel, WOMAN OF VALOR, features an Orthodox Jewish protagonist, CAVE OF SECRETS is not a book about religion. Only a couple of its characters are Jewish, in fact! But it grapples with identity in a variety of ways, along with historical bigotry.

The first version of this book, at least 20K words of it, I wrote in Scotland, then scrapped because I write more contemporary novels. So I changed the story entirely, fictionalizing those historical figures and making them secondary characters.

Speaking About WOMAN OF VALOR on Wednesday
