Dear friends and readers,

In an unusual second post of the week, I want to humbly ask you to consider buying a copy of my new novel, CAVE OF SECRETS. It debuted this week, with lovely launch events, virtual and live, and it would mean so much to me if you’d purchase a copy to read or to gift to someone who loves reading.

It’s hard for me to ask this so directly. We’re supposed to be humble and grateful and subtly promote things, with the hope that people will be inspired to take action.

But writing is a hard career, and every book sold helps a writer get closer to making a living at this art.

If you, like me, love the journey of getting lost in a book, then you know how valuable every great story is to a person who reads it. I have stacks of books that absorb me fully, and stacks that didn’t, so I know it’s never a guarantee when you buy a book that this one will grab you and stay in your heart forever.

I hope CAVE OF SECRETS will be like that for you. I’m pretty proud of this, my sophomore novel, and I hope you’ll give it (and me) a chance.

It’s a slow climb for authors to earn a sustainable living writing books. We don’t make that much for every book sold, but book sales are cumulative—the more copies sold, the more that book will sell.
